Annual salary starts from $72,543.22 + Statutory Superannuation

The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is an inner eastern metropolitan Council, nestled on the outskirts of the CBD. The area enjoys a reputation as one of Adelaide’s most desirable places to live, work, study and visit.

The Role
Working in some of Adelaide’s most popular public open spaces, the Team Member, Parks & Gardens will undertake various activities to ensure the Council’s parks and reserves are maintained for the enjoyment of our community.

Responsibilities will include proactive maintenance works such as mowing, mulching, pruning, planting, weed control and playground inspections, as well as reactive and emergency works such as removal of fallen trees, litter collection, irrigation repairs, removal of branches and tree limbs and collection of illegally dumped waste (as required).

About You
To be successful in this position you will be a proactive and motivated individual who possess the following skills and experience:

• Certificate level 3 qualification in horticulture is highly regarded
• High level of knowledge of horticultural best practice
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a great team player
• General knowledge of the principles of Work Health & Safety
• Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation whilst working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable, punctual and self-motivated and commitment to provide a high level of customer service.

Job Requirements
• National Criminal Record (Police) Clearance with no adverse findings
• Department of Human Services (DHS) Working With Children Clearance
• Class MR or greater Driver’s Licence
• Work Zone Traffic Management Certificate
• Be fit to undertake the inherent job requirements and the physical demands of the position
