Do you have a community activity you would like to promote?

The Community Noticeboard provides an avenue for local not-for-profit groups and community organisations to promote their community activities.

If your group or organisation is based within the Council area and would like to promote its activities or services, please read the guidelines below and complete the online Community Noticeboard Application Form

Community Noticeboard guidelines

The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters reserves the right to accept or reject applications for notices to be included on the online Community Noticeboard based on community interest and the guidelines provided below.

You are welcome to submit your community activity if it:

  • occurs within the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters council area
  • is open to the general public
  • is socially inclusive.

Application procedure:

  • all requests for display of notices on the online Community Noticeboard should be submitted using the Community Noticeboard Application Form
  • applications must be received at least 2 weeks before the start date of the activity.

The application may be refused if it:

  • could conflict with the Council’s values, policies or statutory responsibilities
  • promotes a specific religious or political activity or belief
  • has an administrative or governance focus (e.g. AGM, member meetings or board meetings)
  • does not provide complete information, such as dates, times and venue
  • does not promote the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters in a positive manner
  • affects the Council’s reputation and public image negatively
  • is offensive, abusive or racist
  • promotes tobacco or alcohol use or distribution
  • appears to only promote or advertise the services of a business or commercial enterprise
  • is held outside the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters
  • promotes private garage sales, regular school sporting activities, sporting events or home games etc.

The Council reserves the right to edit, decline or remove listings at its discretion.

IAF Literary Luncheon with Lainie Anderson in Conversation with Sandy Verschoor

Literary Luncheon on Sunday, 22 September 2024 from 12 noon to 4:00 pm at Osmond Terrace Function Centre.

Organised by the Independent Arts Foundation (IAF).
Price is $50 for IAF members and $55 for non-members, which includes lunch.

Adelaide Pioneer VIEW Club Luncheon and Guest Speaker

We invite visitors to our next luncheon on Tuesday 10th September 2024, where our Guest Speaker will be Cathy Elverd, Programs Facilitator at Adelaide’s Office of the charity, The Smith Family.

VIEW Clubs of Australia are fundraising and social groups for women. We raise money for the charity, The Smith Family. There are 19 VIEW Clubs in South Australia.

Venue: The Kensi Hotel, Regent Street Kensington at 10.30 for 11.00am.

VIEW Clubs of Australia support the work of the charity The Smith Family, supporting the education of disadvantaged Australian students. Women meet for lunch monthly for friendship and an interesting Guest Speaker.

Lunch on the Lawns & Garden Tours, Government House

Lunch on the Lawns is back at Government House for 2024-25! The free events will be held on the first Friday of the month from 12 noon to 2pm, starting on Friday 6 September 2024.

Her Excellency and Mr Bunten invite the public to come to the Government House gardens, bring a picnic lunch, spread out a rug or unfold a camping chair and enjoy the surroundings, while listening to a community band or orchestra.

Just come through the main gates and choose your picnic spot.

Other dates are: October 4 2024, November 1 2024, December 6 2024, January 3 2025, February 7 2025, March 7 2025, April 4 2025, May 2 2025.

On the same dates, free garden tours of the Government House grounds, hosted by the Friends of the Botanic Gardens, will run from 10.45am to 11.45am. Registrations are required for these guided tours by phoning 8203 9800.

Independent Arts Foundation Literary - August

Independent Arts Foundation (IAF) Literary Dinner on 20 August 2024 from 6:30 to 9:00 pm

IAF Literary Dinner at Osmond Terrace Function Centre on Tuesday, 20 August from 6:30 to 9:00 pm, with guest speaker Sally Heinrich, author of 'Local Icons', a Wakefield Press publication.

The price, which includes a choice of main course, an entertaining guest speaker and a quiz, is $40 for IAF members and $45 for non-members. Bookings via the link on IAF website are required by Thursday, 15 August.

Venue: The Kensi Hotel, Regent Street Kensington at 10.30 for 11.00am.
We will also hold a Trading Table in the Kensi Foyer to raise funds for The Smith Family.

Quiz Night - Payneham Road Uniting Church

This is a fund-raising Quiz Night sponsored by the Payneham Road Uniting Church and is open to everyone. It will be held on Saturday, August 10th commencing at 7:00pm at Payneham Road Uniting Church, 343 Payneham Road, Marden, SA 5070.

Admission is $10.00 per person for tables of eight persons.

Come and share in a fun night supporting a local organisation that serves the local community and well beyond it.

Independent Arts Foundation Literary Dinner - July

Please join us for our July IAF Literary Dinner of 2024, kindly sponsored by Wakefield Press

Dr Susan Arthure has a PhD in archaeology from Flinders University, with a main research interest in Irishness and the Irish diaspora. Irish Women in the Antipodes: Foregrounded is a collection of Irish women's contributions to life in the Antipodes, introducing us to pioneering women whose hidden lives have now been brought to the fore.

Tickets are $40 for IAF members and $45 for non-members. The price includes a choice of main course, three raffle tickets, a quiz, and an entertaining speaker.

The IAF is run entirely by volunteers and all money raised goes to support emerging artists of all ages and genres in South Australia

Marden RSPCA Op Shop Volunteers

The Marden RSPCA Op Shop has available shifts for volunteering on Tuesdays and Saturdays between 10am and 4pm.

Our valued volunteers are at the core of our retail operations, and we are looking for dedicated and teachable individuals who are capable of:

  • welcoming and assisting customers in store
  • assisting with the general housekeeping and cleanliness of the store
  • receiving, sorting and pricing donated goods in line with Op Shop policies and procedures
  • handling cash and accurately processing purchases through the Point Of Sale system, and
  • replenishing stock levels.


The tasks in our stores are not limited to just these, and there is always a variety of work to do. So, if this interests you and you like meeting new people and learning new skills, then we want to hear from you!
